On a table of 20 people buying a ridiculous amount of drinks, they wanted to charge me for sweet chilli sauce. Absolute joke really. It’s free everywhere!

2 couples,good food,good service,but the service charge of over £13 was not noticed,we then left £10 tip,queried bill this morning and charge has been promised to be back on card good customer service from manager.

Visited the Botanist last night which was a busy Saturday night. Would not write a negative review about something which could be considered ‘so petty’ but it was more the response I got from the lady member of staff which annoyed me. As I said it was a very busy Saturday night, not particularly late and when I went to the toilet there was no toilet roll in any of the 4 toilets. When i came out I politely went up to this member of staff to let her know and found her to be very sarcastic. I walked off and she even shouted after me saying ‘if people don’t tell us we don’t know,’ which exactly was what I was doing, letting her know. Having worked in hospitality for many years, one of the most important jobs is making sure there is toilet rolls in the loos and should be checked on a regular basis to ensure this. I would not even be writing this if it wasn’t for the reaction I got when I went to tell her, it was not necessary.

From the moment of entering the staff were friendly welcoming. Great drinks menu, extremely happy to see Augustiner Helles available. Food menu brilliant. Head Chef most attentive to food allergens, coming out personally to check that everything would be acceptable. Great buzzing atmosphere.

My family and I came in yesterday, Sunday 17th Sept, for a Sunday roast. When we booked it was mentioned there were 7 vegans out of 8 and 3 were children. Before we arrived we received a phone call to let us know that the vegan Sunday roast was limited and would we like them to be reserved which we very gladly accepted. This was so thoughtful of the team to take the time to call us and let us know what was happening. When we arrived we spoke to the staff about the phone call and they said they still had them saved. However there weren't any vegan Sunday roasts for the kids but that was absolutely no problem for the Chef. He came to our table and double checked with the kids the types of things they would like to have in their vegan pie and went away to make them up. I didn't catch the chefs name but it was so unbelievably kind of him to go to the effort of making fresh pies for the kids to have a Sunday dinner. He also would check in to make sure it was okay. Everyone enjoyed their meal and drinks. All the staff were so kind and attentive and made it such a wonderful evening. Thank you so much!! Definitely will be back.
