The Balboa - S San Diego

Nice dive bar, bartenders were awesome, drinks are ? and reasonably priced. I had the garlic fries which were awesome, and the signature hamburger which was good but honestly not the best hamburger I've ever had. It's not in a great area, but probably worth the trip just to see if this is, indeed, the best hamburger in San Diego.

PST…hey, you up there…this is your stomach! GROWL!!! I’m hungry! This place will turn a vegetarian into a meat lover. Food amazing, atmosphere amazing, service great! If the owners management reads this. If can make a suggestion?! Change absolutely…NOTHING! For the sake of hunger, try this place now! As always, you’re welcome!

A little loud, but otherwise great! Order at the bar two burgers, mine as the chef intended (almost), his plain and dry. Salt and pepper fries. Coke to drink (maybe a splash of rum, but I'm not driving). Food was FANTASTIC. Lovely flavor, juicy but not dripping down your arm (my arm can't taste it anyway). The bun was perfectly toasted, the veggies fresh and crisp! The fries were perfectly cooked crispy outside, creamy inside, just the right amount of seasoning. I wish I lived here, I'd eat her twice a week! Parking: I can't tell if we were lucky, or if it's always easy to park here. We got street parking right out front without having to wait for it.
