I ordered the small papi of green chile, and it is delicios and huge and my nabeby ordered the red chile crushed bark enchilada meal and he really enjoyed it.
El Charro used to be our go to place with every trip to Safford. The last 3 times we've been it just has not been the same. Service was so incredibly slow, food was just ok. Salsa was very plain, no flavor. The burrito on my combination plate was almost smaller than my enchilada. My son's beans looked like they had been in the warmer for way too long, dried gross. Had to ask for napkins silverware. Drinks were automatically brought in to go cups, as is they were out of clean dishes. Workers carrying around the plastic flatware holder around the restaurant passing out silverware. The atmosphere was definitely not the same as it used to be. You could feel how much the restaurant service has gone downhill. You could sense that the pride of ownership is definitely not there anymore. Unfortunately will probably be taking our business elsewhere from now on.
Taste buds young again..... like 1977 ... generous chips and salsas served soon as seated. CHIMACHONGA CHILI RELLENO with lots oh refried beans, rice, sour cream, and guacamole so darn beautifully prepared and served as ordered fresh and hot.
This place is great! the first time we're here and it's the best time! I really enjoyed eating, and I would go back!
When we gather as an extended family, many of us are on the way from the state. the service is great. the menu is varied and the food is delicious. parking spaces are located in the inner city, so there can be a short walk. they offer a meeting room large groups. thanks for the memories, el charro.
