Thai Orchid - Salem

I enjoy dining here, but the customer service is lacking. The phones are always out of order, making it difficult to place an order for takeout. I have had issues with calling this place before. Today, there was a lot of background noise during my call, which made it hard to hear. I was asked to call back for a better connection, but when I arrived to pick up my order, they said they had no record of it. It would have been helpful if they had caller ID to call me back.

I ordered lemongrass chicken and drunken noodles from DoorDash. The drunken noodles were fantastic, but the lemongrass chicken, which cost $18, was disappointing. The chicken breast seemed precooked and the peanut sauce had a soapy taste, lacking in cilantro flavor. I was really let down by the fact that they took shortcuts with the ingredients while charging such a high price.

I don’t normally leave reviews if I’ve had a bad experience, but the way that I was treated tonight after spending 50.00 on a meal was unacceptable. Once we got home, we realized that we had the wrong order. I had ordered two orders of chicken pad Thai, one regular and one with extra chicken and pineapple and also an order of pineapple rice. I received chicken satay instead of the original chicken pad Thai. I called and the lady that I spoke to told me that it was my fault that I got the wrong order! She said she repeats the orders three times so there is no way that it was her fault. Nobody ever repeats the order three times! She then went on to say that she was not going to give me a free meal because it was my fault. I proceeded to tell her that I wouldn’t order chicken satay because I didn’t even know what it is and that I’m not looking for a free meal but to be compensated for the item I didn’t order. She then hung up on me! I really love their food but I will not be going back if I have to deal with people like her!?

So delicious! Perfect flavoring in every dish we’ve tried. Husband even says legit Thailand flavors pad Thai.
