The best part of this afternoon tea were the staff. They were pleasant friendly and helpful. Even so the overall feel of the setting and the presentation of the food was uninspiring. The hotel is on the very far edge of Spinning fields across on the other side of the Irwell. The building which looks to be a converted factory should have been bursting with character, Instead the decor was a soul-less brown, reminiscent of an eighties commercial hotel in need of a makeover. More time spent on the preparation and presentation of the food would have transformed the eating experience. Which while perfectly edible lacked appeal. The drinks were very good the Prosecco and the Tea were the highlights of the meal. Overall no complaints on the value as the discount coupon compensated for a 6 out of 10 experience. We would not visit again.
We visited The Lynwood due to good reviews and being close to my son's. We pre-booked for 12.30pm,Saturday lunch because we thought it would be busy, we were the only customers. The king prawn starter was tasty and well presented although a tad expensive for the portion size. The nachos were reasonably priced for the portion size but would have presented better if they had been freshly made from tortilla instead of out of a packet(Doritos or other brand). Lastly the soup was delicious however a total let down when I took a bite out of the still frozen bread accompaniment. This should never happen, no excuse, bad enough if the restaurant was full but when it is empty it's appalling. The waitress was very polite in her service and removed the bread and brought some more, I had finished the soup by the time it arrived though. Main courses were of mixed quality too! The Cajun fried chicken was great however the Buffalo chicken pizza wasn't, fried chicken skin, disgusting! Overall it wasn't a great experience, lovely waitress, modern restaurant, poor standards from the kitchen. We had coffee and dessert at another cafe nearby and won't be visiting The Lynwood anytime soon!!
We were staying in the hotel and arrived late so decided to eat in. The restaurant itself is in the same tasteful and modern decor as the rest of the hotel and academy to the impressive rooftop space. The menu is varied and the food beautifully cooked and presentedas well as being delicious. The staff are also very good andre friendly. All in all a very good find andre would thoroughly recommend.
Bought a group on voucher for a steak meal and glass of wine for two. Fantastic evening from start to finish. The hotel is clean and modern and the staff friendly and very professional. The restaurant is nicely decorated and quite homely. We shared the meat platter we had as a starter. Our steak meal was fabulous, the steak was cooked to perfection. We also shared the lemon meringue dessert, which was wonderful. We got a good sized glass of malbec with the meal too. All this finished off with a coffee. Can't wait to go back.
