Currents - Salida

We had an amazing dinner at Currents Restaurant. We ordered the fish tacos, steak, fish and chips, and from the kids' menu mac and cheese and parmesan noodles. The food was outstanding, with high-quality ingredients, great flavor profiles, and excellent presentation. We sat on the outside patio where our dog could join us, which was a lovely touch. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. We were thrilled with our dinner and would highly recommend Currents as one of the top spots in Salida.

The fish tacos chili were amazing, the ribeye steak was delicious the chicken pot pie amazing, will definitely be back next time we're in town!

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. If you can only make it to one place in town, this is the one to go to. Nice bar and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I was greeted by the friendliest bartender I’ve ever met, I believe his name is Diamond. The atmosphere is lively and the patrons are friendly. I had a sour beer on tap and the sirloin, substituting a salad with ranch dressing instead of the veggies, with mashed potatoes. The side salad it came with was huge, and the picture I took was after I’d already eaten half. The sirloin was one of the tastiest steaks I’ve ever had, and the mashed potatoes were delicious, too. Diamond was so thoughtful he even rinsed and wiped off the outside of my glass because beer spilled down the side when he poured it. This place feels a little magical everyone here seems to be in a good mood, and it’s definitely the place that would be “my bar” if I lived here. Will absolutely be back! Drove out from Denver to Salida, my first visit. Walked through town and stopped at Currents to eat, no real expectations. Well, what a wonderful surprise. The restaurant/bar was clean, funky, real and the people and food made the entire trip worth it. We ordered mussels, fish and chips, salmon salad. Well, I moved to Denver from the Seattle area and love mussels. These were perfectly prepared and sooo delicious. I got the half order of the fish and chips and it was huge! Needed help finishing it but I love cod and it was also perfectly cooked. My friend loved his salmon salad and commented how it came with fried capers which add so much flavor and made the dish especially yummy. Kitty was our server and she let us know we could get a buy one get another beer. I had no idea you could take your beer on the road in CO (keeping it closed). Well, I put the bag of ice she gave us around it in the car and it arrived home perfectly cool. Thank you Kitty. Our day would not have been as perfect without your care and attention.
