Brick Mortar - Salt Lake City

Attentive service, atmosphere was more for a young crowd but our older aged group felt welcomed.The food was good, the only complaint from some in the group was the lack of cheese, particularly in the nachos. Nachos are all about the cheese, you cannot skimp on that!Portions were good and prices were typical. When going out for food and drinks these days, everything is expensive.Our server mentioned they were under new management. Keep in mind the menu is not the same as what you find online. I was looking forward to a clam chowder soup bread bowl, which they did not serve. I ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese, which came on texas toast but could have used more cheese :D

Great location! The street has several beautiful spots. A barber, record shop, and even a bank. You can get really good burgers. At least that’s what I’ve always had. The place is not huge. So plan to wait for a little bit if it’s a crowded night.

Have tried both brunch and dinner here and wasn't too impressed. When we went to brunch during the summer, the rooftop was small. If you plan on sitting outside, know there are very few tables. Both occasions we ended up sitting inside and the service was a little slow. Although, it's a nice place to stop and get some drinks.

We tried Brick Mortar for the first time last night and were very impressed. The server was so friendly and attentive. We got burgers off their new menu, the BBQ and the Westie. They were so good, they were cooked PERFECTLY. My only complaint is I wish the fries were fresh and not from frozen. We will definitely go back again and try more, loved it.

When my friend and I found out the bar we wanted to go to was closed, I picked this place because the photos and reviews seemed promising. I asked to be seated away from people and the hostess gladly accommodated which was great. Unfortunately, my friend and I found ourselves disappointed from that point. Didn't receive water for 20 minutes, when a whole family that came in 5 minutes after us was seated and was already being served their food, and it wasn't busy. I really don't know if it's because we were not seated at an actual table but to not even have water? I'd also really hate to say if we weren't treated as serious customers due to how young we look (we are in our late 20s). Eventually the hostess came and gave us water, and 15 minutes later our waitress acknowledged us and took our order. I ordered a cocktail and noticed right when I received it there was something in my drink but I thought it was a piece of fruit or something. Come to find out when the ice has melted and foam settled, it was a fruit fly. We let our waitress know and she took the drink off our check and I appreciated that. Food was average and a bit overpriced. Fries were good. Probably would have enjoyed it a lot more if the 5-8 flies weren't there. I really, really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I won't be coming again.
