Írjon visszajelzéstI had carefully avoided that place for a long time because I found the exterior too garish. I finally tried it out. After that first time, I went again at each opportunity. The food is very simple and informal. But that's the point of what they offer. And, in its category, it's nothing short of fantastic. The prices are wonderful for central San Francisco. There arecomplications that patrons must comply with: it's cash only, you must order quickly at the front, it's all pre-heated, you mustbus your own table, etc. If that's not your things, table-service with food made to order is available next door at Mel's. Butit's three times the price at least and it's not really better. Although they have a wider selection. The interior is simple andthe tables are big and comfortable. (I can't stand places with little round tables. Fortunately, it's not too common in the US.)Overall, Tommy's is perfect for what it tries to do.
A friend told us this was a quintessential San Francisco bar and grill. I 'm not sure what that means. I do know this struck me as a great locals type place where one could while away an afternoon chatting and having a few. You can also have some greatcomfort food plates or deli sandwiches while you are at it. Enjoyed this place a lot during my visit.
Great place for comfort food. Had buffalo chilli that comes with rice and a dinner roll. Added potato salad and I was more than full. Btw, cash only place.
I was watching Food network and Guy Fieri's Diner, Drive Ins and Dive was featuring Tommy's Joynt in the City. I drove up to the city and had a sampling. I got the BBQ beef Brisket, mashed potatoes and potatoes salad. The food was good but I came at thewrong time because the food was not freshly made. The meat was dry and the mashed potatoes was not hot. ????Tommy Joynt in SanFrancisco, CA.
I had some awesome corn beef with a side of potatoe salad and cold slaw. Make sure to get some pickles as the ate excellent dill chips. Great atmosphere and from what I understand, a San Francisco go to.
