Sea Island Shrimp House - San Antonio

The food and service speed have significantly improved since our last visit in 2021. However, prices have also gone up. The atmosphere remains crowded but provides a comforting familiarity for those who have been dining here for years. When compared to the significant decline in quality, service, and ambiance seen at most other restaurants, Sea Island is doing quite well.

The restaurant was very nice, and all the staff were exceptionally friendly, providing great service.

Sadly not the same quality anymore. I’ve been eating here since the 90’s and sadly it appears the quality of the fish has gone down tremendously. The fish fillets taste like flavorless fried rubber. The shrimp is still decent and the sides were ok but the main course was a definite hard pass.

I am not a frequent diner here because I can't afford a meal here so I bought a few hush puppies to tide me over, The price was great! Lol. They were delish. However there is a long wait time for only 6 hush puppies.

This is a typical fish fry spot—no issues with the food. The prices were quite reasonable. The rice and buttered spinach were particularly tasty. I deducted one star because it took over thirty minutes for our food to arrive, while other tables that arrived after us were getting served.
