Food was delicious, best Chinese food in San Antonio

This place closes at 8PM not 9PM as it says on Google, Yelp and their website. Came here on a Thursday night at 7:30PM, was told they weren’t seating people anymore and I would have to do takeout. Saw many more people come in and get similarly turned away as I waited in the parking lot for my food. Service people seem nice enough and the food was just ok. Haven’t eaten that much Chinese food in this area, but was mediocre compared to many other places I’ve eaten.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. i can’t get enough of their crispy tofu or the infamous green beans. this is such a divine gem to find in this city; i don’t even mind making the drive from stone oak! the staff is always pleasant and lovely to interact with just as the food is always cooked to perfection. i can’t tell y’all enough how highly i recommend this restaurant 10/10

We came here for my birthday dinner, as I’d heard a lot of great things about Sichuan House. I was impressed! I won’t lie; at first, I was slightly annoyed because we were promptly seated, but no server took our drink orders for a good 15 minutes or so. Another table that had come in at the same time as us already had drinks AND a couple dishes. However, the restaurant quickly remedied the inconvenience by supplying us with a free appetizer and fantastic service after the initial hiccup. I honestly believe it was just a simple miscommunication that caused the delay. The amazing authentic Chinese dishes more than made up for the slow start. Everything was delicious and fresh. I definitely recommend Sichuan House for anyone seeking a more authentic Chinese meal experience.
