Hilltop Collection San Bernardino

This was my first visit to Hilltop. I've lived in San Bernardino for 12 years and have passed by this restaurant daily without ever having the chance to stop in. I'm so glad I finally did! I had a fantastic time, and the dinner we had was not only delicious but also full of flavor. Everything was delightful, including the margaritas I ordered. I will definitely be returning with my children. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived. The view was stunning, making it feel like we were in a villa in Italy! I support our local businesses, and I believe we all should as residents of San Bernardino. Thank you, Caroline; you and your staff were incredibly sweet and welcoming. I will be back!

I’m giving this place a three-star rating because I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it didn’t meet my expectations. However, the food was delicious and definitely worth the price. We sat outside, and the view was lovely. It seems like a great spot for an affordable event. My main disappointment was with the drink. I really appreciate a well-made cocktail, and when I pay $12 for a drink, I expect quality. Unfortunately, what I received was just sugary whiskey that was heavily watered down with ice. Additionally, the venue could use some updates!

For starters, we tried the Spinach Dip, which was delicious and packed with flavor. The Fried Calamari, however, was disappointing; it was overly chewy and tasted rather cheap. I opted for the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, and while the chicken was decent, the pasta lacked flavor—it tasted like it was simply prepared with olive oil and garlic. My partner chose the New York Steak and felt similarly unimpressed; his mashed potatoes were quite salty, and half of his steak was pure fat. The customer service was good, and the restaurant offered an outdoor area with a firepit and a spot for taking pictures, which was nice. However, given the overall experience, I don’t think I would return, as it felt like we paid a hefty price for a nice view and fancy napkins rather than a memorable meal.

So glad this place is back open! Aside from the obvious beautiful view, the food was great, we had a very nice evening. Although short staffed, The staff are very friendly and attentive. The Chef was friendly and they all seemed genuinely nice and happy tohave guests. Definitely would recommend going here. We will be going back fore, gotta try out the brunch. I hear it really good.
