Applebee's Grill And Balboa - San Diego

First off didn?t get to finish my review on probably the only working pay thing at all the tables. Service was 1/10, SO SLOW! Food was brought cold, we were never checked on, and they didn?t even ask if we wanted desert or another drink. What a way tolose some money. ????????????. Anyways this place may be a 6/10 on the clean scale, service is most definitely bad, food is 100%below par, the waiters were also just standing at the bar talking amongst each other. The only reason I got my drink made wasbecause my waiter made eye contact with me and then talked to the bartender. I wouldn?t suggest anyone to come here. The peopleat my table and myself will not be returning.

I can?t even remember the last time I dined in at an Apple Bee?s. Came here because it?s been on my mom?s bucket list and we were shopping at H Mart afterwards. I would say this chain is still great for sports, drinks, bar food, family and friendsgathering. Their food is not the best quality but still decent and have a great time with drinks. The sampler is always thebest choice to have a little bit of everything. My favorite has always been the spinach artichoke dip with their thin crispychips. The quesadilla was good, boneless wings not so much. It was like starchy and really sweet. Can?t go wrong with crispymozzarella sticks. We also got fish and chips and shrimp fettuccine. Both are not the best and I?ve had better. The fish batterwas burnt and the fish was too thick with no flavor. You could tell by the color that the oil was not fresh. My pasta tastedlike store bought suave but the shrimp was blackened to perfection and great salt and pepper flavor. The bread stick was seemedold because it was chewy. Overall, I think their appetizers and drinks are the way to go. Expect to have a long wait. We hadtwo parties ahead of us and waited 20 minutes. They had lots of empty tables but only had two servers running around and onehostess.

I waited for a while to be seated at this restaurant. There were TVs playing all around, so I had something to keep me entertained during the wait. The food was cooked by a kitchen team that seemed to lack enthusiasm. If you need to speak to the manager, you can usually find her smoking by the dumpster.

The restaurant is similar to other Applebee's locations, but it is not as crowded. Every time I have visited, they have not been very busy. The customer service is great overall. I will definitely continue to visit this restaurant in the future.

Very understaffed on my most recent visit. Really made a big difference to thd whole experience. Four groups of us waited over 20 minutes at 4pm,to be seated. The staff that were there were very friendly and tried their best to keep up. I had the salmonand to the kitchen's credit, it was very tasty. Overall not a bad experience, but clearly they need to figure out theirstaffing.
