City Pizzeria - San Diego

Awesome place to pickup a slice of pizza and a cold draft beer! Will be back!

Update from 3/7/21 I've been going here a little over a year now. I just had dinner with my mom there last night and we had pizza, pasta, salad, PIPING HOT GARLIC BREAD and beer (on DRAFT!!

Mozzarella sticks! Cold subs are excellent! Haven't tried all the hot sandwiches yet. The meatball sub is top shelf. Pizza is great. And even the pasta I like. The people here are friendly and inviting. Start with the meatball sub and Mozzarella sticks. That's what I did. The pizza is traditional. And very good. Their spaghetti is excellent. Prices are hugely competitive considering they are located downtown next to C street.

The food was fantastic. The person at the front was a bit brusque, but I can handle it. What really matters is the food, and I had a calzone that was incredible—super cheesy, meaty, and gooey. I would definitely eat here again.

This place truly captures the essence of an authentic East Coast city! The sandwiches are outstanding, and anyone familiar with this spot raves about the bread—it's the perfect combination of fluffy and crunchy. The texture and flavor are spot-on! I just tried the cheesecake and was pleasantly surprised by its rich taste. Plus, the prices are incredibly reasonable for downtown San Diego! Also, when Stuart, the server, says "I appreciate you," you can really tell he means it. What a hidden gem!
