La Gran Tapa - San Diego

I was really looking forward to dining at La Gran Tapa, but I was left very disappointed. We visited last Friday during happy hour and ordered a couple of lackluster sangrias. The paella, which was priced at $25, was supposed to feature mixed seafood and meats. Unfortunately, it felt like a feeble attempt at paella with very little seafood or meat included. Our server was inattentive and downright rude. To make matters worse, they charged our card twice for the same amount and added a 15% gratuity without prior notice. We left feeling irate, having experienced only their poor service and bland food.

What a night it was! I arrived pretty tipsy and don’t remember much, except for some attractive people sitting across the bar. They were definitely eye-catching! I was definitely interested in asking them out when a guy came over, channeling his inner John Wayne, and kicked me out. Not very cool at all!
