Whale Bites Cafe - San Francisc

Owners/staff are beyond rude. Didn't know they only had certain hours so we decided to take a few pictures after finding out they were closed. They actually came out and tried to run us off. Told us we were not allowed to stand there and take pictures. Highly unprofessional. And we will definitely not be stopping there to eat next visit!

Best smoked Salmon bagel Ive ever had! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. This will definitely be a regular stop when in Depoe Bay from now on!

John and Beth (our server) makes alot of Items on the menu that are homemade and the homemade cinnamon muffins are awesome. And alot of other homemade yummy food and they use fresh ingredients. It was a very enjoyable outing in Depoe Bay. Their grandchildren were adorable and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back

Must-have breakfast spot when stopping in Depoe Bay! We had the smoked salmon bagel which was amazing, so much that we came back the next day and ordered it for a second time. Breakfast burrito was HUGE and was sold out by the time we got there the first time so would recommend going before 10am if you want to try it. Only downside is that they are only open on the weekends, but we appreciate the fact that everything is homemade and the owners are some of the nicest people you?ll ever meet!

Cute place, smells yummy, but seems unorganized. Will try again and hopefully catch them on a better day. I wish I could speak on the food but sadly we didn 't get that far. We arent writing this place off and will give it another try someday hopefully, but just a warning there may be a wait even if they arent necessarily busy. We tried to go on an early Saturday morning, there were other customers but less than 7 people, including my husband and I. I get that its a family run place with very limited hours, thats actually what made me want to try it. However I would expect them to be more prepared for their open days and it was absolute chaos as we stood there waiting to order. I have a broken ankle but I tried to be patient as we stood behind the person in line in front of us for 20 minutes before even being acknowledged briefly. Never got so much as a good morning we 'll be with you when we can. The staff were openly bickering over missing ingredients and the gal running the register was clearly stressed and not even pretending to keep it together. I really hope it was just a bad day because the food looks fantastic and I love a family business. Reading another review that said they were run off for even trying to take a picture with/next to the building by the owners (the building sits above a famous harbor, I 'm sure a lot of folks take pictures there) is also concerning and believable from the vibes we got standing there waiting.
