Located in the San Francisco Castro district. Unreal Ruben Plant-based corned beef, vegan provolone, spicy brown mustard, sauerkraut, marble rye. Great flavors and the bread was a work of art.

Delicious ruben, fries, and chips. Cute outdoor seating area with heaters, ping pong, and tv. Would love more vegan options!

I don't know where to start. was told about this place by a big friend I was hanging around at the same place when it was nizarios pizza. only yesterday evening after I came out of the mix and was hungry, I decided to check it out. if u like ur food and meat castro youngs, u do not know what they miss. I go for one after quality and this place I will go again and again, only because johnny himself greets them as he invite u to his home. large host and owner and a reason why we should support local business. iam give them a 5star and would recommend it no doubt! - oh, hang on. the patio? big bonus. thanks for the great work johnny?

Hot Johnnie's is such a spectacular hidden gem nestled right into the famous Castro! The pastrami here is genuinely out of this world and the outdoor patio is one of the best around. I chose the Texas Toast Hot Pastrami and I have 0 regrets. Perfect amount of spice, juicy pastrami, and perfectly toasted bread. Pictured is my wife's Sourdough Sandwich. Plenty of heaters if you like to keep warm, plus they even offer Ping Pong and Cornhole! Also extremely dog friendly and the owner John, is one of the nicest people you will meet in San Francisco!

Was in the Castro doing errands and decided to try Hot Johnnie's. I ordered a Dutch Crunch Sandwich with fries to go. First shock was the cost, $28.43 (tax tip) for a sandwich that was barely 6"long with ½ inch of pastrami and a fries is insane. The food is good but the WOW factor went out the door because of the cost. I was there at 5:45 pm dinner time, I was the only one there until my order was ready (15 minutes) the a couple came in. What stops this place to have a long line is the cost.Hopefully they will revise their strategy!
