Osteria Delle Catene - SAN GIMIGNANO

I loved water/ owner. They are so friendly and sweet, even though we didn’t have a long conversation, we could feel their warm-hearted and they are welcoming us. We visited there for lunch around 14:00 in August. The restaurant was quiet and didn’t need to queue at all but we had to wait a bit longer to be served. I assume they have small numbers of staff. Truffle pasta was incredibly amazing, absolutely must eat. My trippa stew felt no taste at first but I could enjoy deep umami flavor while eating.

Very good food with great and friendly service. Highly recommend the Picci with saffron.

This was definitely a find! One of the best places we've been on our trip to Italy: honest prices, kind and helpful service, great food. The pasta with mushrooms and the lamb were the highlights, as well as the recommended wine. A must.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this restaurant. My family of six was looking forward to a nice dinner on our first night in town. Despite the place being empty, we were met with abominable and rude service. We asked if we could reserve a table while my friends finished their drinks at the nearby bar, but we were told that they couldn't accommodate that request unless I sat alone and waited. I agreed, only to find out later that they only accepted cash payments, something they failed to mention earlier. What's even more disappointing is that I strongly suspect they lied about their card machine being broken and only accepting cash. It felt like a deliberate attempt to inconvenience us and drive us away. The lack of flexibility and consideration for their customers was truly disheartening. It was clear that they didn't want us there, and the way they treated us was simply awful. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone, as the service was not only terrible but also very unwelcoming. A disappointing start to our trip.
