El Jefe Mexican - San Marcos

This place is absolutely fantastic! You can tell their is nothing but heart and soul in this food. The warm smoky salsa is unique and full of subtle interesting flavors. The puffy tacos were delicious and not greasy, and the sopapillas will put others to shame. When we asked for a suggestion, Amy recommended the chipotle enchiladas, they were spot on. It was our first time going there and we live right around the corner. Support local great businesses and give them a shot!

The food is tasteless. In further detail: The margarita had no citrusy flavor, the salsa was red water and tacos al carbon were dried doggie biscuits.

I wish it could be a better review. Since they opened we have given this restaurant so many chances. The food is eh and the service is slow. Hope they turn it around but with so many other options, we won 't be back for a long while.

Very good Tex-Mex. Looks like a small place but it's very big when you get inside and very comfortable. Great service too! Give this place a try!! Big menu with many choices!

A little bit higher in price than similar. Ribeye was great, cooked just right. Not crazy about the enchilada sauce but it wasn't bad. Chili con queso con picadillo was great. Great staff, very accomodating, friendly.
