Konojel - San Marcos La Laguna

The food is absolutely perfect, vegan or vegetarian, local dishes and ingredients cooked freshly every day. Cosy room.

I really enjoyed eating here. It is extremely good value best priced in the area I think. The vegan set-meal is fairly basic rice, beans, tortillas, salad, and drink (lightly sugared) and costs 20Q 2.50). I had the set menu and that was very good some kind of curry thing with your rice, beans etc...and that was 30Q 3.50). It is a community centre so has a nice ethos about it. It is simple but good food and I would recommend.

I always enjoy dining at this restaurant. The food is consistently excellent and they offer some of the best prices in the city! The seating on the upper floor is also beautiful.

Lots of veggie places in San Marcos are filled with rich hippies'. Konojel is different. It has a local vibe, the kitchen is completely open so you can chat with the local ladies working there, the food is simple, delicious and cheap, no frills.

The food here is really delicious and the prices are possibly the most affordable in the city. They should raise them, maybe even double them. The proceeds support the local Maya community. I highly recommend eating here, enjoying the food, and having a great meal. Awesome!
