I had to initiate the greeting myself. Despite there being no other customers in the restaurant at the time, the service was lacking. The food was decent, with a unique burger option that was quite tasty. The drink selection was limited but not terrible. The atmosphere was quiet and seemed like a good place to have a conversation and escape noise. However, I would not return due to the lack of hospitality from the staff.
The restaurant charges a fee that is typically associated with San Francisco, even though it is not located there. Despite this, the service is good and the food is enjoyable. However, two stars are deducted due to the excessive fee, which is not present at their location in San Mateo.
Avoid this place like the plague. All of the food was sub par and extremely expensive. I suspect this place won't be around for much longer. I will include the receipt in a picture. The food was average to below average. But the incredibly high bill is absolutely not worth it. I was not the one who ordered, because no way in heck would I have paid so much
Roam is a reliable choice for a delicious burger and shake! I went for dinner tonight before catching the Caltrain and ordered the French n Fries, Zucchini Onion Haystack, and a Mint Chip Shake. The French n Fries is usually my favorite burger, but this one had a lot of mustard, although it was still tasty. The Zucchini Onion Haystack is a must try - light, crispy, salty, and even better than fries. And you can't go wrong with any of the shake flavors on the menu!
I hate doing this, but Roam needs to know this wasn't the best experience. We went on a Monday evening and it wasn't busy and the food came out quick, but... BUT.1) They gave us the wrong food at first. By that point my colleague already touched it and him being easy just said it's fine, I'll eat it. They took away a few dishes we didn't touch, but I hope they didn't reserve them.2) My salad with burger skewers was just not good and it was pricey. The meat tasted old and cold. The salad was unremarkable and tasteless even with dressing.3) The zucchini and onion haystack was just a greasy, salty mess. The veggies were cut so thin, you couldn't even taste them. This went uneaten.Overall, eh for me. I have been a huge fan of the Lafayette location back in the day, but this recent experience definitely left me with some hesitation. My colleague enjoyed his burger and the fries were delicious, so my suggestion would be keep to that.
