Takahashi Market - San Mateo

Nice mom and pop market with Japanese and Hawaiian food. Got some yummy takeout here. My favorites were the pork lau lau and the musubi selection.

Super delicious! Their spam musubi variations are delicious! Ordered their furikake wings and salmon. Definition of Japanese/Hawaiian comfort foods. The market is a bit small but they have everything you need. Jump over for lunch before the close. It’ll be worth your while!

Great plate lunches and one of the best selections of Hawaiian goods on the mainland (in my experience) and the prices are good and sometimes better than in Hawaii. Staff is always super friendly and happy to answer questions. They also carry some basic Asian market staples like curry pastes, a number of noodles and sauces and plenty of furikake. Definitely worth a visit if you're in San Mateo and need those ono grindz.

The best musubis i've had, many flavors to choose. My go to's are salmon belly and bacon spam egg. It is a bit expensive but it's well worth the price. Whenever I pass san mateo I try to stop by.

Great place to go to for authentic Hawaiian food. Has great musubi as well. Though stock is limited and often pricey
