Osteria Scaldaferro - SANDRIGO

We were on our way to Vicenza when we felt we were ready for lunch. Unfortunately (or fortunately, as it turned out) there are not too many options along the road we had been on. All of a sudden we saw a parking lot crowded with cars, and a second look revealed the existence of a restaurant. An Osteria, in fact. The Scaldafreddo Antica Osteria. We decided to give it a try and were somewhat surprised to see the size of the place, all packed with guests sitting at tables and apparently enjoying their meals. As we entered we were seated by one of the staff, who explained 'the system ' to us: there are three possibilities, each for a fixed price, either you take only a first course, or only a second course, or both. With each option, you get a bottle of wine (wine of the house, unlabeled but good) and a bottle of water, both of which you pick up for yourself from a refrigerator located in the corridor, at the entrance... It looked like a perfect deal which, in fact, we enjoyed immensely. The food each of us made a different choice was excellent, rather promptly served to the table. We ended our lunch with coffee and a slice of delicious cake, all for a relatively low price (compared to prices in the big town of Milan, where we had come from... If you are around, don 't miss this restaurant. You will not regret it!

Good food, very fast service, home atmosphere, what more to ask for on a work lunch break? Oh yes, cheap bill too...

An Italian relative brought us out for lunch at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Plenty of authentic food and a menu that was all inclusive. We could tell in advance that the food must be good as the parking lot was full.

Il personale è molto gentile, il luogo è accogliente e si mangia davvero bene.

Grande trattoria con un ampio parcheggio. Il cibo è decente ma sembra di essere in una grande mensa.
