Írjon visszajelzéstThis restaurant is a hidden gem. Although it may not look impressive from the outside, stepping inside feels like coming home. The vibrant colors create a warm atmosphere, and the husband and wife team bring equally lively personalities that enhance the welcoming vibe. They were incredibly polite and friendly. The food is fantastic! One standout dish is the "Tour of Jamaica," which allows you to choose four different meats served with rice and peas, steamed cabbage, and plantain—plenty of food for four people! This place is truly unique, and I can't wait to return.
The four of us—two couples—typically go out for dinner on Wednesday nights. This week, we chose the Rite Season Jamerican Restaurant because we enjoy supporting local, family-run establishments. We were delighted by our experience! The food is exceptional, and the service is both attentive and incredibly friendly. You absolutely must try the jerk chicken, which is served with lightly steamed cabbage and butter, along with rice and beans. The meal is truly superb! This charming eatery is tucked away in Sanford, and if you’re a fan of Jamaican cuisine, you definitely need to check it out!
**Cons:** I went inside to place a to-go order and was informed that the kid's meal was the same size as the lunch portion. However, the kid's meal was about $6, while the lunch portion was around $8 (which I understand due to the larger serving). My bill ended up being about $25 because it was charged as two dinner portions, each around $10, which I didn’t order. I clearly specified that I wanted one Kid's Chicken Stew and one J Chicken lunch meal. Additionally, I requested not to have plantains with one meal or cabbage with the other, but I was told I could get double portions of each with the different meals. It seemed unnecessary since both meals already come with cabbage and plantains, so there shouldn't have been a significant price difference. As you can see in the pictures, neither meal was a dinner portion, and despite ordering one kid's meal and one lunch meal, I received the same amount of food. While I would consider returning because the food is quite good, the inconsistencies in portion sizes and pricing were unprofessional, especially for a new establishment where I was the only customer. This approach isn’t likely to foster repeat business. I’ll update my review if I decide to visit again and have a better experience.
This restaurant is a MUST to visit. The food was A-MA-ZING, the atmosphere was a vibe in itself, and the owners definitely made the establishment so welcoming. The food, the drinks, the music, every part of my experience visiting this restaurant for the first time was nothing short of worth. My lunch ended up turning into 7 hours where we sat, talked, laughed, given wisdom, etc. If you love Jamaican food and you want a good vibe, you definitely want to visit this restaurant!
