Stagnaro Brothers Seafood - Santa Cruz

The shrimp tacos were absolutely amazing! I visited between 10:30 and 11:00 AM and was able to get a seat right away without any wait at the counter. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made great suggestions! This is definitely my favorite restaurant spot on the pier. I had the shrimp tacos, and they were super delicious and crispy! My mom tried the tuna sandwich, and she said it was good too. I recommend letting them know how you would like your tuna cooked, as my mom preferred it well done, but it came out medium. On the positive side, the shaded seating area was nice, and the seafood portions were generous!

Amazing seafood and some of the best views on the water. this restaurant has been my family visit for years. the inside seats were closed, but we had lunch from the window and it was just as good.

They also offer fresh seafood, and their clam chowder is a hit. I double-checked to ensure it didn't contain any alcohol, and it turned out to be quite tasty, served with crispy bread on the side. For around six dollars, you get a generous portion. I highly recommend the fresh fish tacos, which come as a set of three sizable double-wrapped tacos filled with a flavorful mix of pan-roasted fish, fresh vegetables, sauces, and a surprising touch of apples! Lastly, don’t miss out on the fish burger, featuring a crispy fried fish fillet in a sesame seed bun, topped with lettuce and tomato. The salad may be a bit wilted, but just take it off and add some hot sauce, and you're all set. They also serve fries on the side, and the portion sizes are quite generous!

It is a beautifully located food stop. we had the clams with fries and the cocoscrimps with fries. the clam had so much to do with that I could hardly taste the clams. otherwise it was good. the location and the background is the sales point.

Very disappointed in our visit today. We have been coming here since I was a little girl and this was always our go-to spot when visiting the wharf. The past few years (5 or so) the flavors have been falling off but I keep coming back hoping for it to get better. Unfortunately todays trip leaves me with less hope. The clam chowder (not photographed) had no flavor and the consistency felt like a frozen chowder that has been reheated multiple times. I couldn’t eat but a few bites. The crab, in both the crab cocktail and the sandwich, was extremely salty and literally left a bad taste in my husband’s and my mouths. They are currently under construction for the restaurant so I’m giving an extra star in hopes that the reason for the quality and flavor is lack of their usual facilities, and I hope once they open back up fully that their original flavors will emerge. *Fingers Crossed*
