Agave - Santa Fe

I had made a reservation for but the restaurant door was locked and no one answered the phone. I happened to go into the adjacent (I realized later) hotel restroom and the woman said I was in Agave, but they closed at We sat down and were served but no one could explain what happened with the reservation request. Odd!

Ordered the burgers, oz, thin and tasteless. Fries were good. Condiments in packets like a drive thru--had to ask and wait for more of them.

Very limited menu--not what you see on their website. Place was empty--and now we know why. Food was terrible, service likewise. Worst restaurant experience ever in Santa Fe

Limited food choices that are overpriced. An additional charge of to mix tacos is unnecessary. The carnitas(pulled pork) lacked flavor. The pork was bland. The children's menu seems to offer food selections that would be more appreciated by adults. Drink menu has a number of cocktails to enjoy. The cucumber Collins was delicious. Smokey and fire margarita was refreshing. The fire portion of the name is misleading. The mezcal offers the smoke. Service leaves one wanting. Was greeted and told to sit anywhere by waiter. That same waiter took over mintues to take drink order. Would recommend sitting at the bar and visiting for drinks. Don't waste time getting dinner.

I chose Agave based on the on-line menu, which was impressive. However, when we were seated, the menu was extremely limited, and the food was basically bar food tacos, burgers. We were very disappointed and will not ever recommend or return to Agave. Your restaurant has not decided what kind of image it wants for itself. Do you want to be a high-end restaurant or a neighborhood bar? An elegant gourmet event or a watering hole? Right now you are trying to be both, but you are neither.
