We tried both the cherry cider and the IPA, and both drinks were bursting with flavor! We also ordered the chips with tomatillo salsa, which was a big hit! The chips are light and made in-house, and while the salsa is thin, it’s rich in taste—just not spicy. Our server was very attentive to all our needs while still giving us the space we wanted.
Regarding the beer, their milk stout doesn't quite live up to its name—it's just a regular stout, though it's quite decent. It’s not heavy on the hops and avoids a burnt flavor, but I think it could benefit from a bit more malt to enhance its complexity. As for the fish and chips, the fish tasted like typical frozen fish, though thankfully not freezer burned. The chips were better. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the staff and servers were mostly local and Mexican. We tried every beer available during our visit, and while they were all definitely above average, they just didn't impress us enough to warrant a return trip.
I visited this restaurant for the first time and ordered the fish and chips. The fish was coated in a light beer batter and cooked to a perfect golden brown. It was crunchy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The chips were definitely hand-cut, well-cooked, and seasoned just right. I really enjoyed the coleslaw; it wasn't heavy with mayo, which was a nice touch. I also tried an EXB bitter brew, which was excellent! Our server was prompt and friendly. Overall, this place is a must-visit!
I would advise against visiting this place. The waitstaff was extremely rude and nobody greeted us upon arrival. When we mentioned that we were just there for drinks, we were informed that the kitchen was backed up and couldn't serve us. Then, when we attempted to order drinks, we were told there would be a 20-minute wait. The staff was consistently curt, unfriendly, and uninviting. Service rating: 1/5.
This place is great!! We took a group of approximately 50ppl to the Railyard location, and this place handled it like the professionals they are. The beer, food, and even the wine were fantastic. Well crafted beer options, delicious fresh food, and large portions coming out of the kitchen. The service from Matt and Nikki were nothing less than Awesome. If we ever come back to the Santa Fe area for work or personal trips. Second Street Brewery will be a must stop for beer, and food.
