Holy Cow Bbq Santa Monica

Both times, I ordered the Southern Chicken Salad with ranch dressing on the side, but the salad was much better during my first visit because it was prepared correctly. During my second visit, my server, Xavier, was quite unhelpful when I inquired about other menu items, which added to my dissatisfaction. Additionally, my To-Go order was missing the charred corn in the salad and the garlic roll. Since I was not going to return to fix the issues, it really put a damper on my experience. I had planned to bring my coworkers to Holy Cow after work since I’m currently in town for work, but that will no longer be happening. Update on 2/19/24: I followed up via email with Rob, hoping to resolve my negative experience, but unfortunately, I never received a response. I was working at the Genesis Invitational Golf Tournament and would have loved to treat my coworkers to a nice dinner after work. Sadly, I won't be supporting this restaurant in the future.

I just had the best burger I've ever tasted! Holy Cow really hit it out of the park. A big thank you to the chef, as well as Conner and Sophie for their wonderful hospitality. The hamburger, topped with cheddar, pickles, and sauce, was absolutely amazing—definitely one of my all-time favorites. Great job, Holy Cow team!

I've been out of the States for a while and needed some BBQ on my trip back to LA. A friend recommended this place and I was not disappointed. A delicious BBQ set, garlic roll and slaw. Ask for their in-house ghost pepper BBQ sauce.

Visited Holy Cow in Santa Monica recently as I was craving BBQ. The atmosphere/space was super cute and upscale and easy to access. I ordered several things. First the not so great. I ordered the BBQ chicken jerky visually looked amazing. But I think the kitchen staff must have heated/reheated the chicken jerky on a big gas stove and the gas fumes somehow got into the food. I taste this from time to time at other restaurants and is probably a training or mechanical issue. The other issue is all the meat food items were not hot enough (with the exception of the mac and onion rings).... this may be due to the metal plates the meat was served on vs using porcelain that helps retain heat and keep the food warm on the plate. Or maybe they just didn't warm it enough. Within minutes the food was cold. Hence I removed one star. On the other hand, the brisket, onion strings and mac were really good. I am looking forward to trying Holy Cow's ribs soon!
