Mariasol Cocina Mexicana - Santa Monica

I visited this restaurant during my trip to the USA and really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. However, the service could use some improvement. We left our food on the table to step outside for a cigarette, but when we returned, everything had been cleared away, despite us having told the staff not to touch it. This was quite disappointing. On the bright side, they did bring us our ordered food again, but we had to wait once more.

I thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the end of the Santa Monica Pier on the outdoor deck. The nachos, topped with chicken and beef, were outstanding and definitely substantial enough for a meal. The salsa was great too. The Pacifico beers were an ideal match. We even saw dolphins playing in the ocean as the sun set. Our waiter was lively and contributed to making it a truly delightful evening!

This restaurant offers outstanding service, with very attentive servers. I highly recommend starting with their 'World Famous Camacho's Nachos' or the 'Ceviche De Pescado.' The portions are huge and perfect for sharing among several people. The fish tacos are also fantastic. Be sure to try the 'Crab Enchiladas'—they are incredibly delicious and cooked to perfection. I will definitely return here on my next trip to California.

Awesome View Great Drinks. This is a great place to watch the sunset. We waited about 20 minutes for a table were we could see the sunset, otherwise we would have been seated right away. For a very beach drink, try the Mariasol Special. It was very fruity and fresh. The chips were rather stale and the salsa was nothing special. I had the Chicken Flautas minus the beans. The flautas were nice and crispy and the the server gave me a double portion of rice. If you are looking for a very spicy/seasoned guacamole, you will be disappointed. The way they make it allows the flavor of the avocado to shine. Try the Cafe Mexicano for the perfect after dinner coffee/cocktail. Service was above average, but nothing to call home about.

Food was awesome. Margarita was watery and expensive. Overall good!
