Ruth's Chris Steak House Sarasota

Service was great, attentive, had to send steak back unfortunately. Ordered medium rare filet and received well done. When second filet came back it was perfect! Mashed potatoes needed some more flavor. Overall, good experience. Good portions.

Went to happy hour at the bar. Was around 4:45. Good crowd, but not overwhelming Two bartenders, but seemed to struggle, immediately asking us to wait while Amanda went back to the kitchen. Drinks were ok. Ordered zucchini fries and spicy shrimp as appetizers. Both good, good size and happy hour prices. However, after we finished those, plates and silverware were never cleared. Not much follow up from bartender, so asked for dinner menu. We asked to split the twin filets and shrimp. Came out un-split and runner was good about bringing another sizzling plate. Steaks were mediocre and had to ask for bread. This is just not what we expect from Ruth's Cris, having come to this one each year we visit. Seems training is in order.

We had the worst experience we have had in years. The waitress was not knowledgeable, my steak was tough, scalloped potatoes hard, sweet potatoes not at all like before. Tasteless and prepared. We were treating people for their anniversary and the food was an embarrassment . The Caesar, chopped salad and creamed spinach were fine. We had requested a booth and we were seated in the back with a view of the kitchen. It WAS NOT A $700 MEAL!!!

Amazing service amazing food top-notch. Best steak I’ve ever had in a restaurant.

We went for happy hour. Only 2 wines available, house cab or house chardonnay. That's it for happy hour. Our steak sandwiches were cold and instead of the usual slices of steak we received small bit pieces. We would have sent them back but were with another person.
