L'ardoise - Saujon

Friendly family restaurant in centre of town. No frills, but very good and tasty food at a reasonable price. Superb service. Very good for those with food allergies and intolerance, helpful if advise in advance if not a regular customer. Can get busy in summer...so worth booking, Open for lunch all week and Dinner Friday and Saturday. Also have galettes and crepes and more casual menu plus more traditional entree/plat/dessert.

This small family run restaurant is great for midday lunch. The dish of the day varies and is very reasonably priced. This restaurant is popular with working people as well as locals wanting a good lunch time meal. Madame only speaks French but will try...her hardest to understand English. Her husband (the chef) speaks English so bien cuit'/well cooked is never a problem We have eaten here so many times and never had a dud meal. I will probably regret this review as the restaurant will become even more popular and it will be more difficult to get a table! The restaurant is open only lunch times except for Friday and Saturday evenings when the same menu is available and at the same mid-day price! Yes we live locally but have no hidden agenda, just happy to promote this little gem in Saujon town.
