Well oilled machine, for the 23 minute wait for my order (crumbed Barra, 5 whiting, 10 calamari medium chips plus 2 sauces for $36) the kitchen pumped out about 40 orders. Expect to line up on a weekend if ordering cooked to take away no line up fur the fresh takeaway. Barra was cooked perfectly, calamari cooked fine chips were no fuss.
Fish and chips, isn't usually something that I would spend excessive amounts of time travelling to get, except my classmates told me that Morgans, at Redcliffe had the best fish and chips in Brisbane. Having gone there quite a few times as a kid, I definitely remember it as something I'd enjoy every several months. Seeing that the weather was quite beautiful last weekend, we braved the treacherous trek up to the north.
This Fish Chip shop can be said to be the Landmark of Redcliffe. Whenever I have visitors come from Hong Kong, I will drop them to there for lunch and experience the local living. I love to have the deep fried fishes here because they are so fresh. As the rule of thumb, I will buy more fresh seafood through the fresh produce section after the lunch and make sure I will have a nice and spectacular seafood dinner on that night.
We used to come here when I was a kid back in the 90s and had family lunch. I guess the quality had not been great these days and the freshness had decreased over the years. Prices r not cheap, but at least the atmosphere is there. The surroundings makes a family lunch enjoyable, but make sure u know how to pick ur seafood. I cant say I dislike it due to endless family memories of good and bad of this place... Hence it's still ok for me
