Straits Cafe - Scarborough

Had buffet breakfast on Saturday with coupon $39 for 2. Selection of foods are very very little. Breakfast closed at 10:30 and when we went there at 9:30am, almost every food is empty and they weren't topped up and left nothing much to eat. However, some of the staffs are attentive and quick in clearing plates. Overall, the whole experience is below average. We will not go back again.

Enjoyed the hotel restaurant at Rendevous hotel tonight while visiting with out of town family. The food was pleasant enough but nothing wowed me enough that I would choose to come back over one of the more cheaply priced local venues. The cheese was not very nice. We had attentive service but I think our waiter may have been new as he didn't know menu items or some culinary terms - like bleu - but that may have been the accident at fault.

Hmmmm...... Not the best. We were seated, given menus, water and then forgotten about. We finally ordered after two waitresses finished their chit chat. My husband enquired about the flat iron steak (first waitress knew nothing about it) and he assured it was beautiful meat cooked medium but still pink. My husband usually eats it rare but was happy it would be pink. We were also shocked to hear the pizza is pretty made ?????? And couldn't do a ham & cheese one for our son. When the food came, the steak was well done and tough. My husband refused to eat it and sent it back. The steak on the steak sandwich looked better!! Luckily we didn't pay for the steak and had the entertainment card for a further discount.

Really lovely food, amazing service and beautiful views. Very reasonably priced meals. Thank you to the staff for making it such a lovely night.

Beautiful food and great service - we ordered the risotto and steak - both were cooked to perfection. Next time we'll have to get there earlier for the sunset.
