Lyle's Hoagies - Schenectady

The last few times I was there I was disappointed. Little meat, dry sub roll. I know that every place has its off days so I gave them a third try after two disappointments. I asked for extra turkey on my sub, because I knew that their subs had been good, but not the meatiest. I was charged $10+ which wouldn?t have been a problem had there been meat of fair portion. When I get home, I realized that my large turkey sub was actually a sub roll with one layer of turkey breast, with that ?layer? being one slice all the way across. One layer. I won?t be going back.

Lyle 's Hoagies finds a home between the offerings of the Subway chain and the better mom-n-pop sandwich shops. A good selection of chips and beverages, but not so great on the actual subs. Not bad either. More of a better than I could produce at home but seriously less than DiBella 's in Latham. I 've found myself wanting a sub and a cup of soup at times while in this area and my truck finds it way here so how less than could it be? Solid three star eatery, but if you aren 't starving and can hold out drive a little further for a better sub. The New England Clam chowder is very good though.

Today we bought two subs, turkey and cheese, meatball sub, Mac and cheese, cheese and broccoli soup. I asked them to toast the bread and melt the cheese on the meatball sub. The bread was soggy and sauce was unloved very sour flour. I guess they have better vold cut sandwiches than hot. The Mac and cheese was very unique and not in a good way. I didn't even finish my food and I live to eat? I Know I am only one person but try it out yourself. I will try their soup next time. Today 10/12/18 I bought an american mix sub from them today and was disappointed yet again? What do you think of this sub? I was hoping for some more meat on this sandwich, as of right now I am better off going to subway or the bodegas around my way. They know how to put meat on they subs

I recently had the chance to visit a new location of DBL, and it was a very interesting experience! I enjoyed their delicious homemade cheddar broccoli soup and a scrumptious sub served on a Bella Napoli sub roll. It was absolutely delicious! I plan to return with friends and family so they can have a great time too. I'm looking forward to trying more of their homemade soups! A special shoutout to the person who made my sub; he was really nice to talk to and very helpful.

They make subs the way they should be made, unlike those chain restaurants! The rolls are fresh and soft, prepared to order.
