Írjon visszajelzéstMy fiance and I are truck drivers over the road. We had a load that we had to wait overnight for to pick up, so we met up with a friend from the area and went out to lunch here, this little place is awesome! Definitely a hidden gem but well worth your time and money.
Everything is always better in Texas and this place is no exception! Sal o Mon exceeded our expectations with the tasty of its food and its excellent customer service. Seriously, if you have not tried this place you miss, salsa is made in the house, the shrimp tacos are amazing, pigs belly meat cooked crispy or soft makes it easy to melt in your mouth and the avocado appetizer was... good you need to try it down here.
Ok, where do I begin? This dinner experience was “off the charts” !!! Warm welcoming by the owner, we were asked what we liked and he said: forget the menu! From the Delicious shrimp appetizer (his mom recepie) followed by a very amazingly flavorful blue fin ceviche, main courses were Angus Rib Eye and seared Blue Fin Tuna. An array of high end wine tasting accompanied this amazing feast. Salomón the owner is originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, we ourselves are from Mexico City, conversation was plentiful, just like everything else. The “like home feel” inside the restaurant is great, and that decked patio and bar seemed very very inviting. Will definitely be one of our fav places to dine.
Real down to earth deep mexico mexican cooking. Al Pastor taco flavors exploded in my mouth. Excellent service food. We'll be going back when we venture to San Antonio from Canyon Lake. Love to try his menudo... have to go on Sat or Sun...be hard, since we only go south on doctor appointment days.
So, I finally managed to find time to stop in for dinner last night. Service and Staff were awesome...course I was the only person there at first. Anyway, I ordered the Rib-Eye and had no problem with subbing out the potato and rice for vegetables and asparagus. Covered it all with the grilled lime that came with the plate. The grilled veggies were zucchini and yellow squash with red onions...outstanding! Grilled asparagus...perfect! The rib-eye was a little thin but they cooked exactly the way I like it. Then there were a couple of quarter quesadillas made with corn tortillas. They completed the meal. Except for the lime husk, there was nothing left on my plate. I'm going back soon to try some of the other things on their menu...especially their breakfast menu.
