Salt Cellars Lobster House - Scottsdale

Ugghhh! The fish was overcooked terribly expensive and seriously disappointing! My shrimp cocktail was very fishy too! I should know better going on a Monday. Service was very good atmosphere ok, great bar but they don’t know how to cook fish!

Really awesome place! Super unique for Arizona, underground restaurant with awesome seafood. It reminds me a lot of back east.

Three of us are visiting Scottsdale and came across Salt Cellar which looked delicious. We love seafood! The positive was it was super cozy and we adored the vibe. Lovely entry going down into the restaurant. The negative was the fact our waiter, although friendly, seemed to be in a rush and was a little impatient. Our food was presented quickly and taken away just as fast. We had no time to relax and enjoy the experience. When it came to our dinner, we started with oysters which came with a bland red seafood sauce and plain vinegar shallot dressing. Next up were market fresh scallops (our favourite) and they were deep fried and served with tartar sauce and pickled cabbage. That was okay, but again, a weird choice considering the price. We would expect that at a local pub, not an expensive restaurant. We each ordered a main course which, to be frank were horrendous. We ordered a 1.5 pound lobster which was dry and rubbery with steamed carrots and a baked potato. We also tried their fried lobster which again, was dry, rubbery (over cooked) with pasty potatoes and a soggy tomato salad. Lastly, we had lump crab cakes which had very little flavour. We were disappointed because we were expecting so much more and didn't finish our main courses. The bill came and it was around $330 USD. Shocking considering how awful it was.

For seafood this is the best. Their steaks are good but I can get a good steak in many places. Their Lobster is amazing and all the fish dishes I've tried were top notch. Always like going here for special occasions.

Food was not cooked correctly, screaming kids running around out of control and management did nothing about it Will never go back and let everyone know it is not very pleasant
