Smokey the salmon is really good, the salmon is savory and marinated well, stirred with scalion and egg makes it a perfect dish! The hash brown is also crispy outside and soft inside. It is also literally filled over the plate! They also fried four pieces of toast (or two pieces) with butter. It is really delicious and makes a great breakfast. The price is super reasonable with about 12-13 dollars. You are really full and satisfied with breakfast here, a definitely recommended brunch in the area!
This charming little diner near the University District offers one of the best breakfasts I've ever experienced. They have an entire grill dedicated solely to cooking hash browns! The bacon has the perfect texture and thickness, while the hash browns are wonderfully crispy on the outside and hot and fluffy on the inside. I returned a few weeks later to try the chicken fried steak, and it did not disappoint. The gravy was delicious, and the patty was crispy—not soggy or greasy like you've found in other diners. They open in the afternoon and offer a wide variety of dishes, including lunch options. If you're in Seattle, I highly recommend making the trip at least once. Just be aware, it can get quite busy! They also have a walk-up window outside for takeout orders and some covered outdoor seating.
This is now my favorite breakfast in the Seattle area: great portions, friendly service and some fun menu elements with Greek inspired turns, and a Hawaiian special Loco Moco this week. The chicken fried steak has absolutely beautiful and crispy with a tasteful engraving, very crispy hashbrowns and buttery toast with jam. Your house hot sauces are also very good, both are delicious, although I personally thought either was spicy. Friend LOVED, how much feta was on his Greek Hobo . I have heard that it is important for me to try her smoked pig corpses.
This restaurant is an incredible brunch spot that adds a unique Greek flair to its dishes, including perfectly made hash browns. The omelet I tried stood out because it was filled with Greek sausage and feta cheese. I discovered just how delicious melted feta can be, as it’s often just a salad topping. The Eggs Benedict was served warm and came with a delightful cargo hollandaise sauce that was perfect for dipping with the poached egg and muffin. But the true highlight was the crispy hash browns—just the right amount of crunch without being greasy. My go-to brunch place near UW used to be Portage Bay Cafe, but now I’m torn between the two!
Update 03/01/22: We returned for a quick bite and, once again, confirmed that this is one of our favorite breakfast spots in Seattle. The food and service are consistently excellent—this location never disappoints. I always choose this place when I'm in the mood for a great breakfast. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff is friendly. We visited again recently, and the food was hot and delicious. Even though it's in Seattle, it's definitely worth the drive!
