Írjon visszajelzéstI came to this place tonight (7pm on Oct 13) reading other reviews and seeing how charming the restaurant was. I was very disappointed. The service was non-existent. No one even came to seat us when we entered. We waited by the hostess stand for 10 minutes and not a single server or host acknowledged us. Finally when we asked the bartender they told us to just have a seat anywhere. The food was average. I will not be coming here again and will not be recommending the place to anyone.
Love the outdoor area. Martinis are excellent! Been going there for, literally, years. Last time we went, my friend and I both ordered halibut and it tasted like what you would get at Denny's and it was very expensive. Not good at all. I agree with Annette that the menu is very limited and could be improved upon and extremely pricey and the service is sometimes not very good.
The food was delicious! So fresh and flavorful! We started by sharing the heirloom tomato salad, crispy brussel sprouts.. delicious! We got the salmon on a bed of risotto and the smoked pork shoulder with whipped potatoes! Yum yum yum!! We sat indoors, As the weather was chilly but the restaurant was colder then it was outside. The music didn't seem fitting for the dining experience either. Our server was less than attentive and a bit condescending even though the restaurant was pretty empty. I will be back because the food was great! Next time I'll sit in the beautiful patio:
Everytime we have visited GG we have had a great experience! Service is good, food, wine menu good. Great ambience in our neck of the woods.
This is a nice restaurant with a full service bar and a spacious, dog friendly outdoor seating option in addition to a comfortable indoor dining area. They had a nice selection of wines to choose from, with some priced under $50 a bottle, including the 2020 Bucher Pinot Noir, which we really enjoyed. My party wasn 't familiar with pate, so we went for that first and everyone enjoyed it very much. We had a few more apps (rosemary focaccia, caramelized Brussels sprouts, and a soup), our entrees, and then dessert (apple crisp and ice cream and chocolate dessert). There were no bad dishes here, and everything was seasoned perfectly. We were staying in Sebastopol seven adults plus two dogs and I can 't imagine that there was a better option for us to have a special meal together in the area. We enjoyed our time here, and it was nice to sit outside and have our dogs with us. There were a few flaws, mostly things coming out very late from the kitchen or bar, including our entrees, which took forever. But that 's understandable on Labor Day weekend (they were quite packed). We were lucky to have been seated at all. We weren 't in a hurry, and they proactively acknowledged the delays and treated us to an extra appetizer, which we all enjoyed very much. Our entrees were good. No one raved about them, but they were solid. When asked if I could substitute the side dish that came with one fish entree for the side dish that came with another fish entree that was priced the same, I was told that the substitution fee would be $15, so I passed. I don 't mind paying a side dish substitution fee, but that would have been a 50% up charge and made my fish fillet entree a $47 dish. The Gravenstein apple tart is sort of a signature dish. Gravenstein is in their name, and this area of the country is well known for their Gravenstein apples. So I was expecting to really enjoy that. But it seemed rather pedestrian to me in particular, the crisp topping. Still, that 's a small complaint. Despite the lackluster ending, the dinner was enjoyable. When I 'm in the area next, I 'd happily come again for the appetizers and drinks. Cocktails are $14 $17 each here, but they know what they 're doing, and the wine selection is good. I think I would enjoy that experience even if I don 't choose to stay for dinner. They have a number of menus lunch, dinner, brunch, and a separate bar menu and I might try the latter.
