Shaver Lake Lodge At The Point

This place is fantastic! The waitstaff is lovely, and the beers are excellent. The cocktails are expertly crafted as well. The live band really made the evening unforgettable.

The waiting staff is very friendly and efficient. The view of Shaver Lake and the surrounding forest is breathtaking. The Blue Cheese Bacon Hamburger is outstanding, and the restaurant's homemade chips come with a flavorful sauce. It makes for a lovely day trip.

We decided to give it another chance, but that was a mistake. When we arrived, there were no customers in the waiting area, only a couple of tables occupied inside, and the terrace was only half full. There were just two of us, and we requested to sit on the terrace on such a beautiful day. The hostess informed us that the terrace was reserved for larger groups, specifically four or more people. If the place had been packed, I could have understood, but as you can see from the pictures, there was plenty of space available both on the terrace and inside. In the end, we chose to spend our money at a nearby pub instead. The only redeeming quality of this place is the great view, but if you’re turning away customers, you really shouldn’t be in the restaurant business!

Lodge is currently closed!! (01-21-19) Pending new owners opening it up. I like this place for the atmosphere, the food was always just so so. But it has a deck lakeside and a nice bar inside. I am curious to see what the new ownership brings to such a prime location.
