Fabulous old church converted to a "fancy" burger house. The food is good and plentiful - just a little pricey for burger & fries...but they are very good!
We visit OMG every time we are in Sherbrooke. Food is terrific and ambiance is great. But this time service was abysmal. After 20 minutes, I had to go and see if someone would take our drink order. We waited a long time between our appetizers and main course. They started cleaning tables (as in folding up tables including dropping them noisily) while we were still eating. They simply didn't care that we were there. Normally I would recommend OMG without reservation. Next time I will consider another restaurant.
This poor review is for the server that served us last night, not the food itself, which was quite good. I visit Sherbrooke a couple of times a year, as my fiancée's parents live here. I'd eaten at OMG a couple of years ago and it was quite good then, so when a friend suggested it for dinner last night, I was more than happy to eat there again. This time however, the experience was far from nice. It was a Wednesday night, so the restaurant was not full at all, only a couple of tables occupied on the patio, two guys at the inside bar, and two young ladies at the patio bar. The lone male server seemed quite friendly at first, giving my dining companion a free taste of two of the beers on tap. We ordered right away (its a burger spot, so we didn't need to look at the menu very long). We both ordered the "Men's Burger" with fries. Our burgers arrived pretty quickly, but as the server was approaching our table, the top bun for my burger slide off the plate and hit the floor. Clearly accidental, not intentional. He looked down at it for a couple of seconds, then brought the plates over and placed them on the table. He apologized and quickly took my plate away back to the kitchen, picking up the dropped bun along the way. I jokingly said to him "dude, you're gonna get me a fresh bun, right?". I said it with a smile and a laugh, making light of the moment. He replied "Yes, of course.". He came back about 5 minutes later with my burger. I thanked him and quickly ate a fry, and noticed the fries were cold. Before he could walk away, I kindly asked if wouldn't mind replacing the fries, as they were cold. He took the fry basket away, returning a few minutes later with another fry basket. He then went behind the patio bar and chatted with the two young ladies there. They all seemed to know each other. I noticed a couple of times he would say something to the two girls, and they would both look over at our table. As I got about a third of the way through the fries, I pulled a very long hair out of my mouth that was still attached to the fries in the basket. I am not making this up. The hair was at lest 3 inches long. I should note that I have a completely shaved head, so clearly the hair was not my own. I can't say for certain that the server put the hair in there intentionally, but it sure as heck did feel like it. I don't have an axe to grind with OMG, but that's the kind of thing I'd expect at a $4 burger joint, not a place that charges $18 for a burger. I should also note that the burger was very good.
Went for dinner in this former church with bell tower. Meals were good but prices were a little high. The way they have converted this church is outstanding.
