The Reid Diner - Shillong

It's a rarity. The menu does not fit into any stereotypes and has its own identity and it will intrigue you to order if you like to experiment new food. The cook is also there to recommend the dishes or drinks the best. The ambience is warm and cozy and directly at the main point Laitumukrah. It is a perfect place for food lovers. I went with two other friends and the three of us had a great time to eat. So it's an unbiased judgment. I had Reid chicken cheese pommes (it is a must, absolute yum), fiery wings (right amount of chillies), BBQ chicken pizza (soft crust and perfect topping and apt amount of cheese), legendary burgers (the chopped chicken patty is not too fleshy or chewing, just perfect it was actually legendary) and Irish coffee that was best with. Also, all at bags friendly price.

I've been here a couple of times and it hardly ever disappoints. Food is always great!

The place is so American style. Serves veg, chicken pork dishes. The service is excellent with great surroundings and a view. 1. Barbeque Chicken pizza It was really tasty and had great smoky taste of chicken with capsicum and onions topped on it. And filled with cheese. It was heavy, fulfilling and Worth it. Would definitely suggest this dish. 2. Chicken Carbonara cooked in a creamy white sauce with tender meat pieces and pasta. The dish was heavy and had a great creamy texture to it. It's juicy and filled with gravy which tastes Great with the pasta. 3. Fusion bacon cheese bomb This particular dish was great. It was a combination of perfectly cooked roasted rice, veggies, bacon Cheese bomb which just bursts in your mouth. It is available with sticky rice too and its amazing. MUST TRY

Customer service is here. And this is absolutely necessary for a restaurant to get right, as it is food, behavior and even the ambience. They made an additional effort to serve me something I demanded (that was not on the menu). It made me the difference. I would say places like Dylan's Café need a lot to learn from The Reid Diner.

The interior and ambience were right, they even played music videos on TV, which was nice to kill time and groove. The service was fast and especially the food was delicious (the spaghetti is to die for). The value you get for the price is just right. I would definitely recommend The Reid Diner for anyone looking for a nice meal with a friend or two for a reasonable price.
