Dads Beach House - Ship Bottom

My wife and I have enjoyed staying at the Spray Beach Hotel in North Beach Haven on Long Beach Island, New Jersey for the past FIFTY YEARS. We 've always been impressed with the regular improvements to the place over the years, and the new owners recently renovated the lobby and dining room with plans to completely renovate all of the rooms beginning in October 2022. We can 't wait to see the latest enhancements next season! Our favorite room has always been a large King bed on the third floor with breathtaking sunrise views from the window and balcony overlooking the dunes and ocean which is only a few meters away. We also get a lot of use from the fridge microwave. At the end of the day, we always enjoy the pool and hot tub to relax and watch the sunsets over the bay. The new owners recently added free Cruiser bikes, so for the first time in 50 years we didn 't have to haul our bikes there. Steve, Kim and Jamie at the front desk were always very friendly and accommodating! We especially appreciated their efforts to watch for a cancellation, so we were able to stay for an extra night on Friday. All of the housekeeping and pool staff also were very friendly and dedicated to providing outstanding service!

My husband and I have stayed here many many years and have always loved it. It was a well priced hotel right on the LBI beach. The hotel is under new management in 2022. The prices increased dramatically, which we were okay with when making our reservation, but the services disappeared. For $500 per night we have to take our garbage out! Really, little garbage pails that fill up quick so we keep carting our garbage. There is no longer daily maid service, and we have to phone the front desk for new linens, tissue boxes, anything that would be replaced. Again, we are paying $500 night! I called ahead to ask for a late checkout, which we?ve usually been given, even an extra hour, but we were flatly and rudely denied. The woman who answered the phone couldn?t be bothered with any customer service chit chat. She couldn?t wait to get off the phone. Again, you?re new management, act like it. You only get one chance to make a first impression. The rooms are tired and in need of an upgrade, which again mattered less when the price was more reasonable. We were told there would be improvements coming, so they jacked up the price without investing in the rooms. The lobby has been updated and is lovely, that?s it. It seems the overinflated price has discouraged vacationers because the hotel is not filled to capacity as it was in the past. Hope you guys make the improvements you promised, and take these reviews seriously. This year was TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT. Very disappointed. We may just rent a condo next year, you?ll have to wow us before we decide to stay again. Good luck!

I visited this restaurant with my family for a short vacation and we had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, the pool area was fantastic, and the restaurant served delicious food. The location right on the beach was perfect and the service was outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely return!

My original reservation was for the Sister hotel at the Mariner Inn. Upon checking in, I met a wonderful concierge person named Jaime. She was SO welcoming and explained that the Sister hotel was just a little different than this Ocean front hotel . I asked her if by any chance there was an opening at the Spray Beach oceanfront hotel. Without hesitation, she looked at the calendar and along with her colleagues, they were able to get my sister and I a terrific room in a non-noisy part of the hotel !! The stay was TERRIFIC! Their rooms are clean, and the staff cannot be more friendly! Jaime and Dawn and others continued to check in and make sure that our stay was pleasant and to let her know if we needed anything. The hotel offers beach chairs,boogie boards and bicycles to borrow and a wonderful restaurant on the beach with delicious food and cocktails. My only suggestion is the pool could have been a little cleaner and maybe a little cooler. Other than that it was absolutely a wonderful mini vacation and will definitely be back!!

I recently made a reservation at this hotel (though I haven't stayed there yet) and I must say that the customer service I received from Kim over the phone was outstanding. She was very honest and guided me towards the best possible option. While I can't comment on the hotel itself just yet, I was very impressed with the level of care she took in assisting me.
