Food is outstanding a lovely house salad and rainbow trout amandine, with lovely side vegetables, tastefully done (very French)...broccoli, asparagus wrapped in something, and a beautiful crusty potato fritter, with creamy potato inside. One other friend had salmon that she said was wonderful. We shared a bottle of white wine. Everything was excellent and the service was impeccable. The place is quaint, and seems to bring in customers with discerning palates. HIGHLY recommend.
Creative menu with traditional French and regional American dishes. Something for everyone. Smiling, helpful, attentive staff and great value. Main dining room is more intimate and quiet (up to 4), while annex (street side) is better for 4+.
Disappointing*. The food is just OK, of the 4 main courses ordered, 1 was undercooked (extremely rare vs medium rare), 1 was overcooked (well done, tough and stringy vs medium well), 1 was so sadly overcooked (the beautiful delicate dover sole ruined), and 1 was over salty. The garlic bread was delicious. Brie appetizer was nice. Chocolate mousse was good. The ice cream was freezer burned and crystallized, yuck. Service was fine, but a little disorganized and off pace. It's a cute little spot, convenient location. *Note that we had expectations after reviewing the menu before we arrived. We all ordered a la carte so not a good value for our particular meal, but $35 for a prix fixe 3 course OK meal in a nice setting with decent service isn't too bad. Could be a nice fit some other time.
I have wanted to try LCD for quite a while and sorry I waited. The service was very attentive and food was fabulous. The menu is extensive and look forward to returning to try different items, especially appreciate the extensive vegetarian and vegan options. The menu is mostly different prix fix options and ala carte is available but a bit confusing. The portions are very generous.
One of my guests was thrilled to have the soft shell crabs. I was delighted with the grouper. The service is always top notch the wine came quickly, we were each offered a taste before he poured it. Even when the place is full, which it was, we were treated like special friends. Love this restaurant.
