Írjon visszajelzéstThe restaurant was once excellent, but has declined in quality since it was taken over by a brewery and George, the former owner, left. It is now a mere shadow of its former self.
The pub's website promotes it as one of two pubs connected to a small brewery. The photos depicted a cozy, stone-walled pub, which I assumed was the Plough. However, it turns out that The Taproom is now open instead. This new space is large, brightly lit, and lacking in atmosphere with a high ceiling. The brewery appears to be closed. The menu offered is a slimmed-down version of what was advertised online and is quite basic. The food was decent pub fare and the service was friendly. The experience would have been less disappointing if the website accurately reflected the reality of the venue. We were expecting a quaint pub with a diverse menu of local dishes, but instead found ourselves in a spacious room with limited menu options.
The service is excellent and the food is very good with generous portions. It's unfortunate that they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays because we would have liked to come back. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path, which might explain why it wasn't too crowded, but we would still recommend giving it a try.
A very quite pub Seemed very under used Staff attentive Food was only OK Service good Could do better
We rang ahead the week before to ensure that this lovely rural inn could cater for our party of 12. We were asked to preorder our food, which we gladly did as their menu was very appetising. We all ordered a 3 course meal for dinner, and each course came out in a timely manner with very generous portion sizes. The staff were wonderful and very friendly. The food was amazing. We all very much enjoyed our food.
