L'ottavo Senso - Siculiana

My husband and I made a reservation via The Fork, which this restaurant clearly does not use based on the eye-rolls we received when we mentioned our reservation. Luckily, we speak Italian and arrived early enough to be seated outside and in time to watch a nice sunset over the nearby village. The atmosphere ends there though, as it is basically in a parking lot with a couple of opportunistic stray cats wandering around. We also got terrible bug bites from sitting outside, although they did have citronella going in one corner. We ordered the caponata, which was very, very sweet. My husband enjoyed his pasta dish, which was beautifully arranged. My pizza was not good though, I'm sorry to say! Many people were ordering pizza, so perhaps my order (no cheese) was a fluke, but what I was served was pretty disappointing. Unlike the over reviews, we received excellent service, even when the regulars started arriving.

Very popular with the locals as they pour in about 8pm...some large tables. We wait whilst the locals have their orders taken before us and are on their second course before we receive our first. Communication is difficult as no English is spoken which is fine. However, if you have reason to make any special requests/comments, you might run into difficulties. Setting all that aside, the food was fine..and clearly the restaurant is a favourite of theirs. I had a cold mixed seafood starter with prawn cocktail and squid etc followed by a steak. Steak was cooked fine and accompanied by French fries 3Euro extra.

Delicious food, the best seafood risotto I have ever tasted, flavoured with orange and pistachio. Great service , good sicilian wine and very Reasonably priced, especially given the quality of the food. We highly recommend this place.

Delicious pizza's and ice cold Coca Cola from 1 litre glass bottle. Very kind and pleasant personnel. Pizza is baked in wood furnace. Prices are bargain. Looking forward to come back again on first opportunity Highly recommended .

Excellent tagliatte and Risotto, will go back soon to enjoy a Pizza
