At the beginning we were pretty hesitant to enter, as the atmosphere of the restaurant was unusually calm, but the warm welcome from Jan more about him later changed our hearts and we decided to make the best of the night. In a matter of seconds, the tension broke down, and the atmosphere changed to lively atmosphere full of laughs (and awkward moments . A bit about Jan: Jan is the founder of the restaurant, a guy full of energy and character. However, an accident at his teen years made him lose his sight. I will leave the rest of the story out, so that you can hear it from him in person during your visit. Most of the night, our host Jan, spoke to us in English, and every now and then threw a joke in German (due to play of words, a translation was not possible . Furthermore, Jan answered all our questions and shared with us his story in details without any hesitation. About the restaurant: There are countless ways to enjoy your time at this restaurant, and I am planning to try each and every one of them. Whether it is a group of friends eating in the dark, a blind date!, celebrating a birthday, or dancing in the dark (Dance floor with music and laser lights are available , a unique experience is guaranteed. About the food: We chose the Pizza Salad Drink variant. Food was ordered from a nearby restaurant Da Vinci , which is my personal favorite Pizzeria in Siegen. Food was then served by Jan himself inside the Dunkelrestaurant. Moreover, to hype up the suspense while eating, we have let Jan decide which Pizzas to order for us. P.S. Vegan and Vegetarian options are available, so no worries ; End thoughts: In a first world country, like Germany, one might think that the system has evolved to include and embrace people with certain disabilities in the society. Unfortunately, the system is far from this, and the society is even miles behind. That 's why I encourage you all to go ahead and try their shoes, get a glimpse of their world, and try to sustain that feeling. A message to Jan: Your courage, patience and attitude to life are inspiring. Blindness did not stop you from doing great things.
Were to eat third in the dark cafe. The idea for’s restaurant I find not bad.The foods were taken from the pizzeria in the afterbarity and served.Naja, wasn’t the best pizza, but still went. The narrative as it came to blindness, I found quite interesting. You try your best!!! A visit to get to know is enough.
One time. we had to wait 30 minutes despite the appointment. for the price I expected more.
I was there with my friend and we chose a surprise menu. the reception was very friendly, although we came a little too late. The evening begins with a maintenance program, from which we unfortunately missed the first 10 minutes. before being led into the dark, you get a brief introduction, what can happen as soon as you stay longer in the dark room. I don't want spoilers, but it's very interesting and some of them are also tried out.The dark café has, in addition to the experience in eating dark, clearly the focus on sensitizing the visitor for the thema blindness. the owner tries this with a prise humor. This ensures that the whole evening runs very loose. The room is generously chosen. You can choose whether you want to sit close to the next table or rather for yourself.Place is enough. There are not too many guests accepted at once to risk no disturbing atmosphere. that I found super. The room is really drapier, you don't see the hand before suck.I'll say cautiously it's not all been able to eat infall-free. I can definitely recommend nothing to dress fine and nothing white. you don't see anything :dbeim eating cooperates with one of the nearby Italian restaurants. it was really very delicious. In the surprise menu you will be asked if there is allergies or you don't like anything at all. for me as vegetarian, of course, a nice thing. In the big and whole, I liked the atmosphere very well.A point to get off is for the high price. but you don't just pay for eating, but also for the experience and that was top.
