Írjon visszajelzéstGood drinks, friendly bartender, and good tunes on the jukebox. I'm sure before the base lockdown this place was lively, but on this Saturday night it was a ghost town. 6 drinks cost us $51, a little spendy for a dive bar, but they were strong. Had a good time here after our dinner.
One of our favorite hangouts! Momma owns and runs the place all by herself, beware, she doesn't take any **** and will toss you for any mischief. She is however a one woman operation.
The old Asian lady will rip you off. She will double charge you for drinks. When I had a $70 charge for 3 drinks, I asked for an itemized receipt, she gave me another shot and apologized but then walked away and ignored me and wouldn't talk to me the rest of the night. Do not go here.
This bar is the best. I come every Saturday when permitting. Momma is great. If you want to go somewhere and have some drinks and sing karaoke or drink pool this is a great place and it's pretty big. Momma will take great care of you!
You have to be a certain type of person to love this place..... If you 're considering going to this place, please take a moment to read my while review before you make up your mind..... I read everyone 's reviews of this place, and while I can 't say that I haven 't seen the same things happen with my own eyes before, I still love IK 's. First of all.... You have to love karaoke and you have to buy drinks. Don 't expect that if you and your friend buy one or 2 drinks that you can sing your little hearts out for the next 3 hours. I 'm the type of person who prefers a chill environment. I know being in a military school house town, everyone is young and wants the club and the super fun environment. That 's not IKs. Not anymore. Back in it 's haydays of the early 2000s there were so many people it was stupid. I 'm actually glad it 's not like that anymore. So if you 're looking for some action or some place to get stupid drunk with your friends, go to one of those other bars off the main drag. This place is great for getting together with your friends to chill, have a few beers, and hang out.... maybe sing a few songs or play some pool. Now, with regards to what everyone is saying about Mama, the owner of the bar. She can be a little rude, but I think if you take a few things in mind you might have a slight change of heart. First of all, she is getting up there in age. Now, I know that she has been selling that bar forever, and hasn 't sold it yet but it 's her baby. She got that bar up off its feet and has ran it successfully for many years. It 's hard to just sell something that literally has been your entire life. Everything that you have ever worked for. Second of all, she has been running that bar BY HERSELF for many many years. After years and years of night after night, of dealing with drunk, rude people, yelling people, physical fights, cleaning up people 's messes and vomit, stocking and cleaning every night until 3 or 4 am by herself... give the lady some credit. I cartended for her for a while, and its hard work man. I was amazed by how much she did by herself.... and as any bartender will tell you, dealing with drunk kids (as most of the drinkers in SV are in their early 20s) really jades that patience and friendliness you might have. Third, she comes from a different culture. If you don 't know what I mean, or think that it doesn 't apply, go spend some time in Korea.... or even places like Japan or even Hawaii. they do things differently. What you consider rude isn 't in their culture. After I found IKs my first time in SV back in 2007, it became my home. I went there all the time. I met some of the greatest friends through IKs. When the Army sent us back to SV in 2011, I went straight back to my favorite bar. If you are a good person, I think Mama will see that. She really became like a second mom to me while I was away from home. I spent a lot of money there and brought her tons of business. But I was always respectful to her, her property, and her rules. I never got out of hand or was involved in any fight, so to me, Mama was the best. So like I said, you have to be the right type of person to like this bar (and the bar to like you back). There are tons of people who are just like me who love that bar and Mama more than any of bar or club in SV.... just that most don 't write Yelp reviews. Just give this place a chance. You never know, you might grow to love it like me. And if its not for you, then there are tons of other places that might suit you better in SV.
