Mia Mia Hostel - Sihanoukville

Walking into this narrow, yet extra vertically palatial place is like stepping into the church of holy herbs. Hallelujah amen. The dramatically high arched ceiling of this shanty bar and restaurant, with its lofty crisscross wooden pole beams, makes this one of the most uniquely designed establishments in otres village. This is one helluva fun place to swill alcoholic libations and shoot some pool. They play good music with a trancy, euro techno, deep house, eclectic style. They offer dorms at very reasonable rates. The environmentally conscious female chef from Russia whips up some mean and juicy 5-napkins style burgers. Sigh. My heart is fluttering as I silently reminisce over her home style cooking. Go hang out during a busy high season night.

A beautiful place, nice ambiance and very good dorm! Provides mosquito nets, a reading light and outlet at every bed. Very good cocktails as well!

Lured in by the funk and soul, I stayed for a delicious Long Island Tea and left with a warm cozy jumper for my day out at Ream. Nice folks. Nice vibe. Nice design. Shame I didn’t stay here. Maybe next time.

We had bedbucks in our beds. Then the manager told us that the bites are from mosquitos, but I habd 40 bites just on my knee! And then we got other beds and the mosquitonets were ripped. I am really disappointed.

Awful experience there! The beds had bedbugs we were bitten all over. The dorms are open with no door so anyone can get in, I had money stolen from me and the guy next to me had his laptop stolen in the night. The staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful, they always seemed to have their friends over round the bar and would not stop talking to them to serve you. Said friends were also taking some heavy substances, which is fine but one of them passed out next to us in the chill out area and started twitching and spasming which was pretty scary! The owner pretty much ignored us, we asked to book ferry tickets as there was a sign advertising tickets and she was visibly annoyed and very rude about it. She could barely bring herself to look up from her laptop when we left to say goodbye. Do not stay here!
