Nice ambience for chilling out with friends and family. Love the squid rice and the calamari comes together very well. Octopus very tender and well executed with chorizo mash and quinoa. I like ribs as well, as they are meaty not like those you have outside. And the fact it's not dry. Overall nice experience will introduce more of my friends to come to dine. Its a good option for big groups
Price point was fine for the quality of the dishes. The pork ribs and crab croquette were delicious and really flavourful! Just slightly disappointed with the service probably because I’ve seen many compliment the attentive service here. It was difficult to get the attention of the staff from where we sat, and we also had wait for some time to get a table instead of a bar table despite making prior reservations.
I've been to Kilo a handful of times, and although their menus have changed over time, the food is great. It's a very lively place and depending on your seating the music can be quite loud. If you're going to catch up with a friend or a place that you'd like to have a conversation this may be a little difficult. However, would definitely recommend visiting. The food is great, not over complicated, and honestly can appeal to a wide audience. They have a comfortable range of cocktails and spirits available. Bear in mind if you're keen for a beer, there's only Sapporo on tap! It's a great place to dine, and if you want more drinks you can head down to the bar on the first floor. Overall a great hangout spot that serves great food.
The entrance downstairs was a mess, featuring open garbage bins and discarded fruit and cigarette butts, which was a total turn-off. In hindsight, we should have taken this as a warning and left right then. Once we entered the restaurant, we found it to be below our expectations. The glass table was unstable and lifted on one side if you leaned on it—a sign of poor design. Additionally, there were dead plants on the floor behind us, and the kitchen appeared unkempt, with missing tiles and cooks wiping their sweaty foreheads with their hands. The food was a major disappointment as well; it was deep-fried and lacked the presentation that one would expect from a restaurant. Overall, Kilo Kerang does not compare to the quality and ambiance of Kilo Bali. We won’t be returning!
