Sidewalk Tavern - Singapore

The food started off on a high note but has unfortunately declined in quality over time. If you're mainly in the mood for good food, Siglap has many other eateries that offer better options at a lower price. When visiting the Tavern, it's best to focus on enjoying the ambiance and drinks rather than the food. It's a lovely spot for a date or for gathering with friends and family!

The Sidewalk Tavern is a restaurant that offers a delightful blend of popular Asian and Western dishes. The service was prompt and attentive, and our food arrived quickly after we placed our order. We tried the cream of mushroom soup, salt and pepper squid, baby back ribs, and marshmallow pavlova. I was quite pleased with the cream of mushroom soup as it was rich and delicious. The salt and pepper squid followed, boasting a fantastic chewy texture. However, the highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the baby back ribs, which were marinated in barbecue sauce and grilled to perfection. The meat was incredibly tender and juicy. For dessert, we indulged in the marshmallow pavlova, which was light and melted in the mouth. Overall, this restaurant is a fantastic choice for a satisfying meal, and I highly recommend it.

I've tried almost everything on the menu here, and everything has been outstanding! The service is attentive, and the owners, who are often present, are incredibly kind and welcoming. Plus, they offer locally brewed craft beer as well as Guinness on tap!

The all-day breakfast was definitely a highlight of the menu. The English breakfast featured two eggs, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, grilled tomato, baked beans, and toast. The American version was similar, with steak replacing the sausage and omitting the mushrooms. While I was impressed with the variety, our brunch was disrupted by a small cockroach that scurried across the table. The wait staff quickly dealt with it by squashing it with a napkin and mentioned it could have come from outside. There was no attempt to address the situation further. Will I return? Probably not.

When I finally sat down to order, that image was front and center in my mind, and thankfully, the roast did not disappoint. It tasted fantastic. However, my only complaint is that my $18 plate of roast lamb only came with three, maybe four slices of meat. I finished it far too quickly! While there was a refill option for $7, I wasn't sure how much more that would give me. As I ponder other places to find Sunday roast, I guess this spot will have to suffice—it's a solid choice!
