We had breakfast every morning of our week-long stay in Siracusa. It was a great experience to be among Erminio’s regular customers, and getting to know him and his delightful establishment.

Blink and you may miss it, but Erminio’s Bar on the Corso Umberto, one of the main roads leading to Ortegio, is well worth a visit. The bar, one of the few authentic Sicillian establishments we had come across on our visit to Sicily, provided a welcome and much needed antidote to the bewildering array and typically tourist trap venues on offer. Frequented by a range of established and interesting customers and owned by Erminio for the past 30 years, the welcome is warm, service efficient and friendly and prices more than reasonable. Equally excellent for Coffee and Canolli for breakfast or a pre dinner drink, or two, Erminio’s is thoroughly recommend as an aperitif to the, shall we say, rather more frantic atmosphere of Ortegio.

Conosco questo bar da alcuni anni e, oltre alla qualità dei prodotti, apprezzo la simpatia e disponibilità del proprietario. Ovviamente lo consiglio ....se siete fortunati qualche volta potrete trovare al bar anche il bellissimo San Bernardo Dado
